 Yes, there was power outage at Nigeria’s busiest airport; Murtala Muhammed Airport Lagos over the weekend specifically on Saturday and Sunday but the good news is that the incident has been rectified and power restored. Airlines went through untold difficulties to manage flight operations while passengers where worst hit by the inconveniences .Both flight check in, boarding, arrivals, baggage handling and every aspect of flight operations were negatively affected. The comfort of both departing and arriving passengers was hugely compromised. The General Manager, Public Affairs of FAAN has apologised to airlines and passengers but what is actually needed is long term solution to forestall a recurrence. Dati explained that repairs have been carried out on the transformer and light is now restored. One can only hope that the Airport Managers will do what is required; and that is to ensure that airport facilities function at optimum level all the time.
