Easter: FG warns airlines against exploiting passengers

According to Sirika, the warning has become necessary in view of some of the airlines’ penchant for unwarranted inflation of air fares during festive seasons, thereby causing untold hardship for air travellers. According to the Minister, rather than cause problems for the travelling public, the airlines should devise better means of improving their services in terms of customer comfort, safe and timely flights, more effective information dissemination and network expansion. Nigeria Has Third Highest TB Cases Globally Says NACA

Low cost test could reduce death rate As the World marks World Tuberculosis Day today, the National Agency for AIDS (NACA) yesterday released a worrisome information that Nigeria has the third highest tuberculosis (TB) burden in the world with 574,600 cases or 338 per 100,000 of the country’s 170 million population. About 22 per cent of the patients also have Human Immuno-deficiency Virus (HIV) that causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). In a statement ahead of the World TB Day today, NACA noted: “According to the current national statistics on HIV, an estimated 3.5 million persons are HIV positive, while close to one million are on treatment.

   These are not the best of time for a one time beauty queen and Nollywood's star actress Ibinabo Fiberesima as she seem to be  on her way to serving the five- year prison term slammed on her by the Lagos State High court following her conviction for reckless driving which caused the death of one Dr. Giwa Suraj in an auto accident along the Lekki-Epe expressway, Lagos in 2005. All efforts by lawyers of the delectable actress to secure bail for her were yesterday March 17,2016 thrown out by the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division for lack of competence.
