 Airlines do not have fixed fares and that is why it looks like airfares are not stable. Because airlines fares are segmented, travelers always assume fares have been increased any time they are given fare quotes that are higher than what they are used to.
I am focusing on Abuja because Abuja is Nigeria’s city of power .Crucial decisions that shape the nation are often taken in Abuja. Most people who work in Abuja live outside Abuja. Therefore, there is always a reason to stay connected to Abuja.
Domestic airlines are not relenting in providing that connection. It is now left for the passengers to choose when to fly and at what cost.
The secret to getting cheaper fares is proper planning. If you want to fly cheap, plan ahead. Once you understand your travel routine, book ahead to save cost except when you have an impromptu need to travel.
Another secret is to choose the days and time: Most business travelers rush to Abuja on Mondays, Tuesdays and rush out on Thursdays, Fridays. So, if you want cheap fares on those days book ahead.
You can also schedule your trip to depart Abuja on Friday mornings instead of waiting till evenings when everyone else is rushing out. Just remember that if you move with the crowd, you will likely pay more and probably become a victim of extortion from touts.
 With the aid of technology and internet connection, you can visit websites of domestic carriers to check available fares and purchase your ticket in advance.
There is no reason to pay more when you can pay less!

Aero Contractors: Temporary Flight Suspension is a Safety Measure Says NCAA

Nigeria’s oldest domestic carrier Aero Contractors has just suspended scheduled flight services with effect from today September 1, 2016 but the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has dismissed claims that some airlines in Nigeria were shutting operations insisting that the airlines in question merely suspended scheduled flights temporarily as a safety measure. While explaining that Aero Contractors still operates charter services, the Director General of NCAA; Capt. Muhtar Usman Says the airlines were merely embarking on a temporarily suspension of flights to overhaul and strengthen their operations.
