Stowaway Dies On Arik Air’s Flight To Johannesburg

I wonder while some people like taking suicidal risk? That best describes the case of a stowaway whose lifeless body was found on Arik Air’s flight from Lagos to Johannesburg.

Arik Air in a statement said the dead body of the yet to be identified stowaway was found in the main wheel well of one of her A330-200 aircraft on arrival at the Oliver Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg South Africa on Wednesday, November 30, 2016.

As narrated by Arik Air “Engineers of South African Airways Technical facility at the Oliver Tambo International Airport where the aircraft was scheduled for a routine maintenance check discovered the body of the stowaway during inspection phase”.

While the airline says investigations into the incident have commenced, it has become very necessary for all those in charge of providing security at the airport to review their security procedures as this is neither the first time nor the last time this issue of stowaway will occur.
