World’s Largest Aircraft; Airlander10 Suffers Mishap in Second Test Flight
What is happening to Airlander 10? The massive hybrid aircraft
that holds so much promise for passenger and Cargo transportation has suffered
another incident while landing on its second test flight. A report in http://atwonline.com said the huge air vehicle
has been damaged in a heavy landing on its second test flight in the UK.

An inquiry into the incident which occurred at
about 11 a.m. local time at the vehicle’s home base, RAF Cardington, north of
London has already been launched by The UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch.
The Manufacturer of the aircraft; Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV) said there were no casualties” All
crew are safe and well, and there are no injuries”
Airlander 10, which is larger than a Boeing 747, originated
in a US Army program for a Long Endurance, Multi-Intelligence Vehicle (LEMV). It
was intended to provide a nonstop surveillance presence over areas such as
Afghanistan. When the LEMV project was terminated in early 2013 part by the
United States Government, HAV bought back the aircraft for about $300,000.
