Med-View: Why We Left Passengers' Luggage in London

Med-View: Why we left passengers' luggage in London
Med-View Airline has attributed its inability to return luggage of its London passengers to the failure of Gatwick Airport Authorities to screen the baggage after the airline had deployed another flight to return them.
The airline had dispatched special flight to Gatwick London to bring the luggage but the aircraft arrived on Saturday without the luggage.
It was learnt that due to excess baggage by some passengers, the airline could not return the extra luggage and the Gatwick Authorities had to screen the baggage again before the airline could airlift them.
But the screening could not be carried out due to the Christmas holiday, it was gathered.
In a statement on Sunday, the airline said this explained why the special flight returned without the luggage since a fresh screening would have to be done on the baggage.
Med-View expressed regret over the development, saying the Gatwick Airport on arrival of the aircraft said it had no capacity to screen the baggage as only a handful of its workforce was on duty.

The two men accused of using fake weapons to hijack a Libyan plane earlier this week with 117 people on board before diverting it to Malta appeared in court Sunday.
Moussa Saha and Ali Ahmed Saleh pleaded not guilty in Valletta's law courts to a string of offences including hijacking a plane and threatening passengers.
If convicted they face maximum sentences of life in jail.
The Afriqiyah Airways Airbus A320 was en route from Sabha in southern Libya to the capital Tripoli when it was taken over and forced to fly to Malta, sparking a four-hour runway standoff.
While the two suspects were initially thought to have used a real grenade and at least one pistol to stage the hijacking, it later emerged that they had allegedly used fake weapons, a Maltese government statement said.
The pair were escorted into the Christmas Day hearing under heavy armed security and the two men were wearing bullet proof vests.
