Why Arik Air is Delaying Arrival of Passengers' Luggage From London

Nigeria's largest airline Arik Air is always in the news !
One still recalls that one of Arik Air's Airbus A330-200 recently had an incident at the John F Kennedy International Airport New York where the aircraft was hit by as equipment belonging to a Handling Company.
That incident did not only disrupt Arik Air's  New York flights , it is also having a negative impact on the airline's operations to London as Arik Air has explained in a statement that it had to deploy a smaller aircraft ;Boeing 737-800 on London route while the damaged aircraft is undergoing repairs.
Arik Air's spokesperson ;Mr. Adebanji Ola said"in order to avoid cancellation of the Lagos-London Heathrow flights, an alternative B737-800 aircraft had to be allocated on the route to minimize the inconvenience to booked passengers"
According to the airline "passengers were however duly informed of this capacity restriction at the check-in desk at London Heathrow Airport and were advised of the possibility that some of their baggage will have to be sent on subsequent flights as per space availability''.

While apologising to passengers for the inconvenience, Arik Air appealed to them to remain calm as all the backlog of their baggage would arrive Lagos between today; Tuesday December 6 and Wednesday, December 7, 2016.
